Job Purpose: Grow the Bank’s Microfinance Loans business through sales, service, and retention of a specified portfolio. Implement HFB procedures during recruitment, loan application, appraisal, loan disbursement, and recovery.
Key Result Areas:
- Actively mobilize, sensitize, recruit, and recover Microfinance Loans.
- Manage existing client relationships to increase/grow Housing Finance Bank’s share in the microfinance space.
- Promote a savings culture among clients.
- Initiate credit applications for assessment/review, complete documentation, and submit to credit committee for approval.
- Present loan files to credit committees for decision-making, providing feedback to applicants.
- Ensure effective monitoring of loans, manage delinquency/early warning signs of default.
- Develop and implement a sales plan, champion specific product selling campaigns to achieve/exceed sales targets.
- Liaise with Credit department for loan recovery actions on defaulting accounts.
- Handle customer queries and complaints, resolve them in a timely manner, and escalate unresolved queries.
- Deliver accurate and quality loan documentation, following approved terms and operating policies.
Financial Responsibility: Achieve set targets through effective relationship management, asset growth, liability growth, and maintaining a quality asset book to drive branch profitability.
Person Specifications:
Education & Training:
- Honors degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field from a recognized University.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in microfinance.
- Good understanding of micro lending processes and procedures.
- Familiarity with portfolio management processes and procedures.
- Sound understanding of laws and regulations related to lending in financial institutions.
