About planetGOLD Uganda:
IMPACT Transforms, as the executing agency for the planetGOLD Uganda project, is working in collaboration with Uganda’s National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines (DGSM). This project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), aims to reduce mercury usage in artisanal and small-scale gold mining while enhancing the well-being of local mining communities.

Job Description:
IMPACT Transforms seeks the services of an audit firm to conduct an independent audit of the annual financial statements of the planetGOLD Uganda project. The audit, in accordance with international auditing standards, will assess compliance with financial reporting requirements outlined by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the project agreement.

Responsibilities:

• Review annual financial statements for the fiscal year 2023.
• Evaluate company accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls.
• Provide detailed audit reports and recommendations for process improvement directly linked to the planetGOLD Uganda project.

Required Profile:

• Proven experience in auditing development projects with international funding, particularly under NGO and UN funding.
• Thorough understanding of international accounting standards and local tax laws.
• Competent and certified team of auditors with strong references from previous clients.

Expected Deliverables:

• Audit reports for each examined financial year.
• Recommendations for enhancing accounting and financial processes.
• Presentation of audit results to the Organization’s management.

Duration and Frequency:

• Contract duration: Two (2) months, with potential renewal.
• Audit services provided annually for fiscal years covering the period from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
• Audit reports for each financial year due by July 15, 2024.

Selection Process:
Interested audit firms should submit proposals before the deadline. Selection criteria include experience, service quality, cost, and references.
