Bank of India (U) Ltd is seeking applications for the position of Senior Banking Assistant (Credit) at its Kampala/Head Office branch. This full-time role offers an opportunity for suitably qualified Ugandan Citizens to contribute to the banking sector.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare loan proposals and submit them for approval.
• Analyze applicants’ financial status and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility.
• Explain loan options and terms to customers.
• Handle loan account opening and management in the system.
• Liaise with lawyers and valuers for efficient loan processing.
• Review and update credit and loan files.
• Conduct site visits for prospective and existing borrowers.
• Monitor loan advances, conduct inspections, and prepare reports.
• Manage loan portfolios and monitor accounts for recoveries.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of relevant reports.
• Follow up on post-disbursement conditions and collect revenues.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a Business-related field from a recognized institution.
• Three (3) years of working experience in Credit within a Bank/Financial Institution is essential.
• Ability to lead a team related to credit work.
• Proven track record in Credit from a financial institution.
• Highly organized with multitasking abilities.
• Basic knowledge of computer operations is necessary.
