Contract Duration: 12 months

Salary: Between 2,900 CHF and 3,100 CHF monthly (before income tax) + monthly living allowance of 300 USD

Accommodation: Provided in a guesthouse

Background on IMPACT and REACH: IMPACT Initiatives, based in Geneva, Switzerland, manages several initiatives, including the REACH Initiative. REACH, born in 2010, is a joint initiative of IMPACT Initiatives, ACTED, and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Operational Satellite Applications Programme (UNOSAT). REACH aims to enhance the humanitarian community’s decision-making capacity through information products for emergency, reconstruction, and development contexts.

Country Profile: The Research Manager position is based in Sudan, responding to the humanitarian crisis resulting from clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. IMPACT Initiatives is scaling up its operations to support assessment and analysis coordination, conduct rapid assessments, and critical cash and market research.

Position Profile: The Research Manager will contribute to the strategy and supervise all research work in Sudan. Responsibilities include staff management, project/research cycle management, grants management, external engagement, and strategy development and implementation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in a humanitarian setting
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research design, data collection, and analysis
  • Team management skills, including remote management
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Prior experience with humanitarian coordination fora
  • Prior knowledge of the region is an asset
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment, flexibility, and independence
  • Fluent in English, Arabic is an asset
