About the Role

The Marketing Campaign Manager will oversee all the marketing activities for the business, ensuring their marketing team effectively fulfils the business marketing objectives and contributes to overall business profitability.

The Marketing Campaign Manager will get the chance to work for a leading local brand, BrighterMonday Uganda, with access to a supporting team under the broader umbrella of a pan-African brand, The African Talent Company (TATC), and the parent international brand, Ringier.

They will report directly to the Regional Head of Marketing & work closely with our cross-functional communication, email & performance teams sitting in Kenya

Responsibilities

The Marketing Campaign Manager’s responsibilities will anchor on driving business success from a marketing angle
This list is not exhaustive, just indicative of the direction and purpose of the role. Functional:
Own & drive all marketing objectives, goals and critical results for the business
In consultation with the Head of Marketing, East Africa, take the lead in developing in-country marketing strategy and provide sound input into company strategy
Write, have approved on time and record results in campaigns, partnership and event briefs, as well as drive ideation of omnichannel campaigns where applicable
Project manage all assigned campaigns and activities, including reporting in line with TATC structures and standards
Network to build partnerships with local professional bodies, private companies and governments
Build relationships with valuable partners on the ground
Plan and manage events to drive conversions of target personas
Build close connections to the media to capitalise on PR opportunities
Work with the Business CEO to manage budgets and ensure that campaigns, events and partnerships are aligned with brand strategy and produce an impact on core KPIs for brand
Effectively execute media buying activities, events and other offline initiatives
Ensure adherence to visual guidelines across all channels
Own brand voice for the business

Organisational:

Manage marketing colleagues to ensure omnichannel marketing campaign execution
Communicate with colleagues and share insights on Slack
Utilise Trello to update task status
Weekly coordination and training with the direct reports
Weekly ongoing update/strategy meetings with CEO, Head of Marketing, East Africa
Bi-weekly strategic call with the Head of Sales, Head of Customer Service, Head of Product, and Head of Programmes
Reporting:

Report on the impact of campaigns & initiatives
Update Marketing Progress trackers weekly
Produce marketing weekly reporting and call out significant shifts vs forecasting and budgets, along with reasons and action items

Essential Skills, Attributes & Experience

The Marketing Campaign Manager should possess the following skill sets, attributes and minimum experience. This list is not exhaustive; it is just indicative of the prerequisite skills needed.

Minimum of 5 years experience in a marketing position.
Remarkable team management & leadership skills. Experience leading and working with diverse teams may be an advantage.
1-2 years experience in management
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration (or) relevant work experience.
Up-to-date knowledge of marketing best practices.
Experience in strategy development and implementation
Deep knowledge of Google Analytics with deep dive into traffic sources and conversions to identify problems and adapt strategy
Strong analytical and reporting skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
Good interpersonal skills
Good organisational and planning skills
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
