Job Description:
As an Analyst, Research at Standard Bank, your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough research and evaluation to assess risks and potential returns on investments and financial transactions. You’ll play a crucial role in enabling SBG asset management to effectively invest clients’ financial assets. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing research information and credit analyses on counterparties.
• Conducting research on the global and local economy, as well as valuation and analyses on listed companies and alternative investments.
• Offering support to portfolio managers.
• Monitoring and updating the team on various market activities, trends, and news.
• Preparing reports for internal meetings, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
• Ensuring effective risk management and mitigation activities are undertaken at all times.
• Accurately inputting financial/non-financial data and performing investment analysis.
• Maintaining and updating model portfolios and assisting with due diligence processes.
• Writing research reports, projections, recommendations, and various investment notes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field.
• Experience Required: 1-2 years in investment management or asset management, preferably in the securities industry or investment banking.
