dfcu Bank, a rapidly growing financial institution in Uganda, is seeking to fill the position of Senior Manager – Investment Clubs & SACCOS to support its expansion strategy in Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and Retail Banking.

Reporting To: Head of Enterprise Banking

Job Purpose: The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the performance of the Investment Clubs and SACCOs unit, ensuring sales, balance sheet growth, and profitability. The key focus is on expanding market share and providing exceptional banking services to Investment Clubs (ICs) and SACCO clients.

Location: Kampala

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Provide strong leadership to the Investment Clubs Business Development Executives and Sales teams through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and relevant bodies to maximize the Bank’s sales potential.
  3. Coordinate financial literacy, alliance, and partnership programs aligned with the Bank’s agenda.
  4. Identify potential new business opportunities, generating innovative ideas, and improving existing product offerings.
  5. Proactively improve value propositions, create recommendations for product enhancements, and develop clear project plans.
  6. Review unit performance daily, weekly, and monthly, developing short-term game plans to meet and exceed performance targets.
  7. Monitor the portfolio regularly to understand customer behavior and address fund outflows.
  8. Work with strategy to monitor competitors’ sales performance for maintaining and developing a competitive position.
  9. Grow and develop a clean customer database in line with company objectives.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in Retail Banking with a sales background, with at least 3 years at a managerial level.
  • Computer knowledge (spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and word processing).
  • Good knowledge of the Bank’s products, systems, and Personal Banking goals/objectives.
  • Leadership, management, and business development skills.
  • Excellent performance driving & team-building skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral, including presentation and public speaking skills).
  • High-level engagement & negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of credit processes.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lead and work under minimum supervision.
  • Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Mature disposition in handling Corporate & Business Banking client profiles and needs.
