Job Title: COMMUNICATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Background
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Communication and Administration Officer will work at the Kampala-based Latek office and closely with Latek members all over the country.

Latek Stay Alliance Uganda is an umbrella Organization of Social Entrepreneurs with the overarching objective of reducing extreme poverty in communities under the thematic areas of Education, Health, and Income generation, currently operating in Uganda. Our Vision is a poverty-free Uganda.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Communication and Administration Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Main: Communication & PR

  • Support the production of various publications, including annual reports, impact reports, donor reports, and newsletters.
  • Document and communicate Latek’s work through various mediums.
  • Edit and update promotional materials and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts, etc.).
  • Ensure that Latek’s publications are of high quality and disseminated appropriately.
  • Manage Latek’s digital presence through the website and other social media platforms.
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the Latek brand and coordinate publicity events.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Support the development and implementation of the communications strategy.
  • Liaise with the media and all partners to profile Latek’s work in line with the strategy.
  • Support the development and implementation of the strategically aligned communication plan.

Additional: Administration

  • Receive Latek Members and guests at the Latek Secretariat and maintain a conducive front reception area.
  • Ensure the safety of equipment or documents when unattended.
  • Support systems development, meeting scheduling, and execution.
  • Manage office and kitchen supply inventory controls.
  • Take messages, assist with inquiries, and communicate efficiently.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communication, or a related course.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Previous experience in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills. Fluency in English.
