About UBOS: The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is entrusted with the important task of providing accurate statistical data for Uganda’s development. As part of this mission, UBOS will be conducting the National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) 2024. Enumerators play a critical role in this process by directly engaging with communities to gather essential information.
Job Description: As a Census Enumerator, your primary responsibility will be to conduct census enumeration within designated Enumeration Areas. Your duties will involve:
- Participating in and attending all training sessions.
- Mobilizing communities for census participation through door-to-door outreach.
- Identifying and demarcating boundaries within assigned Enumeration Areas (EAs).
- Collecting accurate data using provided tablets on individuals, households, institutions, and communities.
- Transmitting collected data to the server on a daily basis.
- Providing daily progress updates to the Census Enumeration Supervisor.
- Compiling a comprehensive end-of-assignment report at the conclusion of the enumeration exercise.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of all census materials and equipment.
- Returning all census materials and tools to the Census Enumeration Supervisor upon completion of the exercise.
- Carrying out any additional tasks related to the census as delegated by the Census Enumeration Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in training sessions.
- Mobilize communities for census engagement and participation.
- Identify and mark boundaries of designated Enumeration Areas.
- Collect and record accurate data using provided technology.
- Transmit collected data to the server on a daily basis.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Supervisor.
- Compile a detailed report at the conclusion of the enumeration.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of census materials and equipment.
- Return all materials to the Supervisor upon completion of duties.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Possession of at least an A-Level Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Possession of a valid National Identity Card.
- Age between 18 and 50 years.
- Residency in the village/cell where you intend to work.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively mobilize communities.
- Strong communication skills and excellent public relations abilities.
- Ownership of a smartphone.
- Mobile Money registered phone number under your own name.
- Full availability from April 1st to May 25th, 2024.
