Role Description:
This is a contract role for Translators/Interpreters proficient in ALL Ugandan Languages, Kiswahili, French, Mandarin, and German. Responsibilities include providing accurate translation and interpretation services, translating written documents, transcribing audio recordings, and facilitating communication between English and various Ugandan languages. This is a hybrid role based in Kampala with remote work flexibility. Selected candidates will join our large translators team for ongoing translation projects.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and proficiency in at least two Ugandan languages
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and the Ugandan languages
• Experience in translation and interpretation
• Knowledge of cultural nuances and language variants in Ugandan languages
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements
• Knowledge and mastery of the local language orthography
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably in language, communication, language education, mass communication, or linguistics. Advanced degree(s) in linguistics is an added advantage.
