JOB DETAILS:
Kampala International School Uganda is searching for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced Secondary Physics Teacher to join our dynamic and collaborative Science Department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Physics and dedicated to providing high-quality teaching to students across Key Stage 3 (KS3), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and informative Physics lessons tailored to the needs of students across KS3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma levels.
  • Cultivate a stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity and deep understanding of Physics.
  • Assess and document student progress, offering feedback to support and guide future learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation in alignment with the English National Curriculum and IB Diploma Programme standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide activities.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and colleagues to promote student learning and wellbeing.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed, such as extracurricular activities, pastoral care, and supervision duties.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Physics at KS3, IGCSE, and IB Diploma levels.
  • Thorough understanding of the English National Curriculum and experience implementing it.
  • Familiarity with IB Diploma Programme principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in education.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Master’s Degree in Physics or Education.
  • Experience teaching in an international school environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology effectively in teaching and learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dedication to inclusive education practices.
