Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with program and sector staff to respond to donor interests, lead proposal design, and negotiate sustainable funding for refugee response activities.
  • Represent World Vision in sector coordination meetings, ensuring alignment with donor regulations and government policies.
  • Establish robust networks with relevant stakeholders to integrate project implementation across all levels effectively.

Performance Management and Supervision:

  • Recruit and orient staff for all projects under your management.
  • Ensure staff have necessary documents and hold regular performance review meetings.
  • Build staff capacity in project development, management, and humanitarian response.

Programme Management:

  • Lead project start-up meetings and develop detailed implementation plans.
  • Provide technical oversight in identifying children in need of protection services.
  • Conduct regular project progress reviews and ensure timely closeout plans are in place.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation:

  • Lead joint monitoring and project reviews with donors and other agencies.
  • Compile and submit quality progress reports and situational reports.
  • Document project best practices and lessons learned for dissemination.

Financial Management:

  • Maintain budgetary control over all project budgets and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
  • Coordinate with finance to submit cash requests and provide monthly cash flow projections.
  • Review project financial reports and support preparation of accurate financial reports.

Resource Mobilization and Project Development:

  • Engage with strategic partners to develop quality project designs and fundable proposals.
  • Conduct assessments as required in the response area and review project documents aligning with guidelines and standards.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Humanitarian/Development related Discipline; Masters in relevant field is an added advantage.
  • Strong policy analysis, refugee protection background, and budget management skills.
  • Must be a committed Christian with the ability to transcend denominational diversities.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Familiarity with inter-agency coordination mechanisms and international humanitarian law.
  • Proficiency in computer software and excellent communication skills.
  • Visionary leadership, integrity, ability to delegate tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Team building and problem-solving capacities.

Complete Travel and/or Work Environment:

  • Must be willing to work in diverse cultural and psychologically stressful environments.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with partners and exhibit exemplary lifestyle in local cultural context.
  • Emotionally mature with physical stamina; position is based in a field office.
