ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Programme Accountant, you will provide crucial accounting, budgeting, and financial management support to the Learning for Life (L4L) initiative. This 4-year program, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, aims to address the critical shortage of health workers in Africa. Reporting to the ICD’s Senior Programme Accountant, you’ll ensure effective utilization of program funds, compliance with donor regulations, and organizational policies.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Budget Preparation, Monitoring, Operations, and Growth
  • Programme Financial Performance Review
  • Cash Balance Monitoring
  • Audits

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Full professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA)
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in financial and project accounting, preferably in an NGO environment
  • Experience in multi-currency transactions and grants management

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
