JOB DETAILS:
Mukwano Industries Uganda Ltd is seeking Plant Maintenance Electricians to join our team. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical equipment and systems to ensure efficient plant operations. If you are skilled in electrical maintenance and possess the required qualifications and experience, we invite you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance tasks on electrical equipment and systems as per requirements, providing accurate feedback on findings.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical equipment and systems efficiently.
• Install and test plant equipment and electrical systems in accordance with approved standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective action plans.
• Monitor the operation and condition of electrical equipment, identifying and fixing defects promptly.
• Operate and maintain electrical power equipment and switch gears.
• Plan and prepare for assigned job execution, ensuring availability of necessary materials and tools.
• Innovate to improve electrical equipment and systems.
• Optimize usage of spares and materials.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards and comply with safety rules and procedures.
• Log all jobs and relevant information in the Shift Log Book.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Electrical Supervisor/Officer/Engineer/Manager.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

• Preferably Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing industrial setup.

Skills & Professional Attributes:

• Excellent knowledge of VFDs, Basic PLCs, Electrical controls, Motors, etc.
• Proficiency in equipment maintenance and installations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals.
• Experience using test equipment and tools for fault-finding.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proactive with excellent time management abilities.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices.
