Summary: Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) seeks a People & Culture Officer to ensure seamless Human Resources operations at our Field office. The role encompasses talent acquisition, policy implementation, and strategic staffing alignment with organizational objectives. The incumbent will uphold compliance while nurturing a positive workplace culture conducive to employee development and inclusivity.
Job Description:
- Provide guidance and direction to site staff in accordance with People and Culture policies.
- Talent Acquisition: Attract and recruit top talent aligned with organizational values and goals.
- Conduct orientation for new staff members.
- Manage staff contracts effectively.
- Facilitate employee development through training and coaching initiatives.
- Develop and implement P&C policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and foster a positive work environment.
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances to maintain a harmonious workplace culture.
- Champion diversity, inclusivity, and engagement within the workforce.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, regulations, and company policies to mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance.
- Maintain accurate staff and P&C document records.
- Manage site audit inquiries effectively.
- Ensure staff have necessary identification and insurance coverage.
- Oversee timely submission of staff timesheets.
- Attend general staff meetings and report action items to the People and Culture Manager.
- Handle site payroll changes efficiently.
- Provide weekly targets and outputs.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor, adapting to changing project needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in a human resources or related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Goal-oriented and a team player.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Experience in donor-funded environments preferred.
- Experience in a research setting advantageous.
- Knowledge of NAVISION/Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
Work Hours: 8 hours per day
