1. Registration Officers (105 Positions)

Reports To: Senior Registration Officer
Department: Registrations & Operations

Job Summary: The temporary Registration Officers will be responsible for assisting in the verification of all applicants and accurately enrolling all citizens of Uganda at headquarters.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enroll citizens by capturing bio-data and biometrics of each individual
  • Retrieve pre-registration information from the system
  • Provide registration forms for citizens to fill
  • Accurately record data as provided on the application/registration form
  • Guide applicants on the completion of the registration form
  • Flag attempts by Non-Citizens to register
  • Deliver registration records to sub-county Supervisors
  • Ensure the safe custody of NIRA registration property
  • Conduct citizenship verification on all applicants
  • Ensure all applicants submit required documents
  • Submit daily reports to the sub-county supervisor
  • Ensure data protection and privacy in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Registration Officer

Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Social Sciences, IT, Computer Sciences, Information Systems, BBA, Accounting, Law, or related field

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous enrollment and data processing experience with NIRA or Electoral Commission preferred
  • IT literacy and proficiency in standard software packages
  • Broad knowledge and experience in working with biometric data
  • Good communication, writing, and comprehension skills
  • Team player with good organizational skills

2. Client Relations Assistant (06 positions)

Reports To: Client Relations Officer
Department: Public Relations and Corporate Affairs

Job Summary: The Client Relations Assistant will assist in responding to citizens’ questions about mass enrollment and renewal via various channels and handle applicants’ complaints.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to inquiries on mass enrollment and renewal
  • Draft responses and correspondences
  • Utilize social media platforms for publicizing enrollment exercises
  • Address citizens’ questions and complaints
  • Collect and analyze applicants’ feedback
  • Develop knowledge base on Frequently Asked Questions
  • Track customer service KPIs and metrics
  • Ensure data protection and privacy compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Client Relations Officer

Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Communications, Public Relations, Mass Communication, or related field

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous media relations experience preferred
  • IT proficiency and graphics design skills

3. Internal Audit Assistant (05 Positions)

Reports To: Internal Auditor
Department: Internal Audit

Job Summary: The Internal Audit Assistant will assist the Internal Audit team in auditing project activities, verifying expenditures, and ensuring compliance.

  • Audit project activities and processes
  • Verify project expenditures and fixed assets

Job Summary: The Network Administrator Assistant will assist in supporting, configuring, and maintaining NIRA’s internal and external networks.

  • Certification in Juniper, Cisco, or related fields preferred

Job Summary: The System Development Assistant will assist in supporting the system development team, coding, and contributing to software development processes.

  • Monitor technical performance of National Security Information System

6. Service Engineer (04 Positions)

Job Summary: The Service Engineer will provide technical advice, design solutions, and maintenance support for personalization machinery used in card production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper functioning of personalization machines
  • Manage stock of machine spares and inventory
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Log and escalate faults and incidents
  • Manage service, maintenance, and repairs of machinery

8. Database Administrator Assistant (03 Positions)

Job Summary: The Database Administrator Assistant will assist in maintaining NIRA databases, ensuring smooth operation, data security, and accessibility.

  • Implement and enforce maintenance procedures
  • Define users and enable data distribution
  • Perform data backup and recovery
  • Monitor database performance and security
  • Conduct tests and evaluations
  • Develop disaster recovery plans

Qualifications / Education:

  • Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
  • Proficiency in data analysis software
  • Knowledge of database design and SQL
  • Experience with DBA case tools and third-party tools
  • Certification in relevant fields preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and with flexibility
  • Good communication and team player
