Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Movement Operations Manager, the National Associate Movement Operations Officer (Field Support) is responsible for supervising movement operations activities in the field. This role entails overseeing various tasks to ensure efficient and effective support for migrants.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise field teams engaged in activities such as airport services, transit centers, third-party facilities, and transportation, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to protocols.
  • Manage airport services for arriving and departing individuals, including documentation, luggage handling, and special services, while liaising with airport and government officials.
  • Coordinate services at transit centers or third-party facilities, ensuring a professional, safe, and secure environment and managing assets, inventories, and vehicle fleets.
  • Arrange timely and adequate services for meals, snacks, and water, ensuring cultural appropriateness, hygiene, and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate selection mission support, exit permit support, and interpretation services, adhering to ethical standards and guidelines.
  • Supervise transportation coordination from consolidation points, transit centers, and third-party facilities, ensuring adherence to IOM standards.
  • Liaise with internal and external partners positively and productively, representing IOM at meetings and conferences as required.
  • Ensure quality assurance of field support services, handle sensitive cases according to IOM policies, and prepare incident reports promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of paperwork, ensuring compliance with standards and data protection rules.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience.
  • Experience in Movement Operations, especially with IOM, is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of program implementation and familiarity with IOM’s administrative, financial, and business rules.
  • Strong communication skills, proficiency in IGator, and excellent computer skills.
  • Fluency in English required, working knowledge of Kiswahili or French is an advantage.
