Currently, we are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join us as a Manager Reconciliations.
Job Purpose: As the Manager Reconciliations, your primary responsibility will be to establish a robust and timely GL reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of standardized and comprehensive reconciliation reports across the bank.
- Address queries related to reconciliations from stakeholders promptly and efficiently.
- Report any identified losses, near-misses, irregularities, or variances during the reconciliation process.
- Identify and report suspicious transactions such as duplicates and multiple transactions to the respective GL.
- Drive the development of underlying processes, reports, and systems to enhance the efficiency and quality of reconciliation continuously.
- Review and approve all documentation pertaining to the reconciliation project, including process flows, risk assessments, and training attestations.
- Perform Administrator and Approver roles in the blacklines system for each GL line onboarded.
- Allocate and distribute the reconciliations unit snap check monthly, providing necessary support to the snap checker and filing completed snap checks.
- Calculate the volume and value of Items at Risk on all reconciled GL lines and populate this data into the Key Risk Indicator (KRI).
- Review end-of-month reconciliation reports submitted by branches and departments, rating them based on timeliness, completeness, and quality of work.
- Review each Balance Sheet GL line, categorizing them based on reconciliation status and providing explanatory comments where necessary.
- Follow up on items at risk and in exception to ensure resolution by action owners and prevent repeat findings.
Minimum Education Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or any other relevant field.
Work Experience:
- At least 6 years of experience in a commercially oriented organization, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level.
Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Previous experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to align with business goals.
- Familiarity with Core banking systems and business process review.
- Proficiency in financial management.
