Job Summary:
Brac Uganda Bank Ltd is seeking an IT Applications Support Officer to ensure the stability and performance enhancement of the core banking system and other applications. The role involves resolving operational incidents, providing technical support, and contributing to process improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in database designs, updates, and amendments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and efficiency.
• Perform data backups and recovery procedures.
• Maintain database performance by implementing new releases and process improvements.
• Perform system End of day, End of month, and End of year processes.
• Set up, test, and support new databases and data handling systems.
• Provide backend/frontend troubleshooting support for core banking system and other applications/channels.
• Support IT projects.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2-3 years’ experience in an ICT Department of a financial institution.
• Knowledge of Orbit-R Core Banking System.
• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying CBS reports using Crystal report tool.
• Good knowledge of technical and IT infrastructure interdependencies.
• Relational database management skills (Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL).
• Ability to handle pressure and work under stress in emergencies.
• Knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• People management skills.
