The African Union (AU) Internship Program offers a full-time engagement for qualified individuals from diverse academic backgrounds. This program provides an invaluable opportunity to gain professional exposure within the AU, fostering personal and professional growth in an intercultural environment. We invite individuals who are passionate about the AU’s mission and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across various cultural backgrounds to apply.

Purpose: The AU Internship Program aims to:

• Provide participants with hands-on experience in various fields relevant to the AU’s work.
• Strengthen participants’ personal and professional skills.
• Foster a supportive environment for future African leaders to develop and thrive.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the AU Internship Program, applicants must:

• Be nationals of African Union Member States.
• Be full-time undergraduate (in the final year of study), postgraduate students, or recent graduates from a recognized institution.
• Be fluent in one of the AU’s official working languages (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, or Kiswahili).
• Be between the ages of 22 and 32 at the time of application.
• Meet the requirements specified in the terms of reference.

Required Documents: Applicants must submit the following documents through the AU Careers portal:

1. A motivation letter indicating their expectations from the internship program.
2. A copy of a valid passport or national identity card.
3. Certified copies of relevant academic certificates.
4. Current curriculum vitae (CV).
5. Recommendation letter for internship from the institution of learning they are attending.
