Job Description:
Let’s Walk Uganda is seeking a passionate and experienced Grants Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in securing funding opportunities, grant writing, and managing grants effectively. We encourage applications from women for this position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Grant Research and Identification: Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
  2. Grant Application and Management: Prepare compelling grant proposals and applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with funder requirements. Oversee the entire grant application process, from submission to reporting.
  3. Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams and achieve fundraising goals. Cultivate relationships with potential funders and donors.
  4. Report Writing and Compliance: Generate detailed and accurate grant reports, highlighting program outcomes, impact, and financial accountability. Ensure adherence to grant agreements and reporting deadlines.
  5. Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, foundations, corporations, and community organizations.
  6. Project Management: Collaborate with program staff to ensure synergy between grant objectives and program activities. Monitor grant timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  7. Capacity Building: Provide guidance and support to staff on grant-related matters, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting best practices.
  8. Monitoring and Evaluation: Work closely with the monitoring and evaluation team to assess the impact of funded projects, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
  9. Knowledge Sharing: Stay abreast of trends and best practices in grant writing, fundraising, and philanthropy. Share knowledge and resources with staff to enhance organizational capacity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, and/or nonprofit management.
  • Proven track record of securing grants from diverse sources.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and reports.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases and tools is advantageous.
  • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
