Operating in 53 districts with 48 Area Programs, WVU focuses on health & nutrition, water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & resilience, education, and child protection. Committed to safeguarding beneficiaries, WVU seeks a Deputy Food & Cash Assistance Manager to maintain program quality, manage budgets, acquire resources, liaise with donors, plan projects, coordinate logistics, and build local capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all projects within the program, ensuring operational and administrative alignment.
  • Provide technical oversight to field activities and staff, including Food & Cash Assistance Officers.
  • Establish and maintain proper food/cash handling and accountability systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Represent WVU in food program-related meetings and engage with donors and stakeholders for networking and partnership.
  • Facilitate staff capacity building through training and mentoring, and assist in talent identification and recruitment.
  • Ensure humanitarian accountability systems, including complaints response mechanisms, are in place and functioning.
  • Prepare program budgets, monitor spending against budget, and submit required progress and financial reports.
  • Identify and utilize various funding resources to support program objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Development Studies; Postgraduate Diploma is advantageous.
  • Strong presentation and report writing skills.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commodity programming and logistics.
  • Knowledge of food aid legislations and regulations of major donors such as the United States, WFP, and The EU.
  • Commitment to capacity building and people development.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 30% of the time, plus occasional international travel.
