Since its establishment in May 2012, Eleglance Finance has expanded its operations to several branches across Uganda, facilitating access to financial solutions for a diverse clientele.
Position Reports To: Finance Manager
Key Relationships: The Branch Accountants will closely collaborate with the Finance Manager (FM) and Branch Manager (BM) to ensure the efficient financial management of the branch and the satisfaction of its clients.
Job Summary: The Branch Accountants will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information essential for decision-making purposes. They will oversee income and expenditure, manage assets and obligations, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Deputizing for the Branch Manager when necessary.
- Managing bookkeeping and primary accounting records, including petty cash imprest management.
- Filing and coding of vouchers/documents in accordance with the chart of accounts.
- Preparation of monthly and yearly financial reports, bank reconciliations, and income statements.
- Participating in both internal and external audit processes.
- Conducting stocktaking of assets and maintaining an asset register.
- Meeting reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring cash levels and handling treasury-related activities.
- Ensuring adherence to budgetary allocations.
- Managing staff advances and preparing payroll information.
- Reconciling teller accounts and bank statements.
Personal Specifications:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, or related fields.
- Partial or full professional qualification in CPA or ACCA.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Trustworthiness and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
- Fluency in local languages within the operational areas.
