20 Apprenticeship Opportunities – Baking-Ministry of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities is offering apprenticeship opportunities for 20 individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Baker. This program aims to develop skilled personnel along the tourism value chain and improve working conditions in Uganda. It is part of the government’s commitment to enhancing the capacity of the labor force in the tourism sector through on-the-job training.

Objectives of the Program:

  1. Provide hands-on working experience to diverse professionals interested in the tourism and hospitality industry.
  2. Offer young graduates relevant skills, combining work and learning to reduce the school-to-work transition gap and enhance employability.
  3. Allow the hospitality sector to contribute to the development of locally skilled workers, reducing the reliance on foreign labor.
  4. Engage employers in training to ensure graduates possess skills relevant to the labor market requirements in the tourism sector.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Applicants must hold qualifications in Tourism, Leisure, and Hospitality from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Completed studies between 2020 to 2024 and currently unemployed.
  • Applicants should specify only one specific trade of interest.
