Department: Registrations & Operations

Job Summary: The role of Registration Assistants is to ensure precise recording of applicant information and oversee the registration procedures at the assigned center.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct citizen enrollment by:
    • Recording biometric and bio-data details of each individual
    • Accessing pre-registration data from the system
    • Distributing registration forms to applicants
    • Accurately documenting information as per the application forms
    • Guiding applicants through the completion of registration forms
    • Identifying and reporting attempts by Non-Citizens to register
    • Delivering registration records to sub-county Supervisors
  • Maintain the security of NIRA registration assets
  • Perform citizenship verification for all applicants
  • Ensure submission of all required documents by applicants
  • Report promptly any challenges faced at the registration center
  • Provide daily reports to the sub-county supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws as per the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019
  • Execute any other relevant duties as directed by the District supervisor

Qualifications / Education:

  • Minimum of a UACE certificate or equivalent qualification

Experience and Skills:

  • Proficient in IT and computer usage
  • Demonstrates high moral character and integrity
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Capable of extended periods working on a computer
  • Effective under pressure and meets deadlines
  • Willingness to travel long distances
  • Proficient in local language(s) of the area of operation and English
  • Ability to engage an audience without fear or arrogance
  • Self-driven team player, comfortable with both independent and supervised work
  • Excellent communication and mobilization abilities
  • Openness to further training as required by the assignment
  • Prior experience with NIRA or the Electoral Commission will be advantageous

Additional Requirements:

  • Residency within the sub-county of operation
  • Submission of a recommendation letter from the LC 1 chairperson and GISO of the area of residence
